The Pre-existent Christ

Has Jesus always existed? We know he was born of the virgin Mary as recorded in Luke 1-2. But did Jesus Christ exist before Nazareth at the Incarnation of God's Son to the Virgin woman named Mary? Let's Look at this subject. We will cut to the meat. Jesus said he pre-existed.

"And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I{Jesus} had with thee BEFORE the world was." - John 17:5 (KJV)

Let's look closer and examine the "what if's", IF JESUS HAS NOT ALWAYS EXISTED:

The Pre-existence of Jesus Christ

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL AGES:

Matthew 22:42 cp John 8:24

INTRODUCTORY THOUGHTS:

*The Significance of His Preexistence:

  • He has always existed as God the Son- His birth was not His beginning! (John 17:5)
  • If He didn't preexist, then He is not God (Psalms 90:2; Isaiah 9:6)
  • If He isn't God, then He would be a liar- (John 8:58)
  • If He is a liar, He isn't God- (Romans 3:4)

What is the meaning of Pre-existence

  • He means Bethlehem wasn't His beginning.
  • He existed before His birth, creation, and time. (John 1:1-2)

THIS IS THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS: (1 Timothy 3:16)

        Who wrote about His Pre-existence?

Isaiah: (Isaiah 7:14 + Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 9:6-7)

Apostle John: (John 1:1-5)

John the Baptist (John 1:15 cp Luke `1:36)

Apostle Paul: (Colossians 1:15-18)

Apostle Peter: (1 Peter 1:20)

Christ: (John 6:38; 8:58; 17:5; Revelation 1:8)

What was He doing prior to His earthly Birth.

  • Creating the Universe: (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:2)
  • Controlling the Universe: (Colossians 1:17)
  • Communing with God the Father (John 17:23, 24)

About Jeremy

Jeremy's testimony is not an eloquent or elaborate testimony but it is genuine and truthful. Jeremy is a son of a free will baptist minister. Jeremy grew up in church as a preacher's kid. Though Jeremy knew all the lingo on the Bible, he was lost and needed to be saved. Jeremy's dad was the pastor of a small country church. He had a guest speaker to preach the evening service. Jeremy felt convicted of his sins and became focused on his dirty heart. On the way home after the preaching Jeremy asked his dad and mom on how he could be saved. They showed Jeremy how to be saved and he knelt down by his bed and Jeremy received Jesus Christ by faith. He became Jeremy's personal Saviour. Amen!
