Sermon: Does creation or evolution matter?

Speaker: Dr Aaron Dawson, Ph.D
Text: Genesis 1 cf. Job 1
Topic: Does creation or evolution matter?

Depression is on the rise post-covid-19 pandemic.
Why? Does it matter if creation or evolution is correct?
If evolution is correct, there is no point or design. If creation
Is correct, then an all-wise creator brought everything in
existence.

There is a God. God loves you more than you know. He sent
His only Son to pay the penalty of you and my sins. We matter!
Whatever you face, Know there is a God and He matters!
Pursue God with your all!

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Loving God with all our strength looks like what?

Strength = "force, power, abilities"

What can I accomplish with what I have?

What has God given us skills for? Why?

God has given us these to point people to God!

We are to be a light on a hill.

Simply be "HIS". Abilities should shine others to God which Honors God!

Sermon: What am I created for?

Text: Ephesians 2:1-10

Subject: "What am I created for?"

Speaker: Dr Aaron Dawson

Date: Sunday Morning 07-03-2022

Ephesians 2:1-10

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

About Jeremy

My photo
Falkville, AL, United States
Jeremy's testimony is not an eloquent or elaborate testimony but it is genuine and truthful. Jeremy is a son of a free will baptist minister. Jeremy grew up in church as a preacher's kid. Though Jeremy knew all the lingo on the Bible, he was lost and needed to be saved. Jeremy's dad was the pastor of a small country church. He had a guest speaker to preach the evening service. Jeremy felt convicted of his sins and became focused on his dirty heart. On the way home after the preaching Jeremy asked his dad and mom on how he could be saved. They showed Jeremy how to be saved and he knelt down by his bed and Jeremy received Jesus Christ by faith. He became Jeremy's personal Saviour. Amen!
