Church Covenant

Having given ourselves to God, by faith in Christ, and adopted the Word of God as our rule of faith and practice, we now give ourselves to one another by the will of God in this solemn covenant.

We promise, by His grace, to love and obey Him in all things, to avoid all appearance of evil, to abstain from all sinful amusements and unholy conformity to the world, from all sanction of the use and sale of intoxicating beverages, and to “provide things honest in the sight of all men.”

We agree faithfully to discharge our obligations in reference to the study of the Scriptures, secret prayer, family devotions, and social worship; and by self-denial, faith, and good works endeavor to “grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together for church conferences, public worship, and the observance of the ordinances of the Gospel; nor fail to pay according to our ability for the support of the church, of its poor, and all its benevolent work.

We agree to accept Christian admonition and reproof with meekness, and to watch over one another in love, endeavoring to “keep the unity of the Spirit” in the bonds of peace, to be careful of one another’s happiness and reputation, and seek to strengthen the weak, encourage the afflicted, admonish the erring, and as far as we are able, promote the success of the church and of the Gospel.

We will everywhere hold Christian principle sacred and Christian obligations and enterprises supreme; counting it our chief business in life to extend the influence of Christ in society, constantly praying and toiling that the kingdom of God may come, and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

To this end we agree to labor for the promotion of educational and denominational enterprises, the support of missions, the success of Sunday schools, and evangelistic efforts for the salvation of the world. And may the God of peace sanctify us wholly, and preserve us blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Articles: Learning and Practicing a Presentation Outline

The Romans Road

WHAT IS THE ROMANS ROAD?

Simply put, the Romans Road shows the path to Heaven. It uses points from the book of Romans in the Bible to explain God’s gift of salvation. At each stop we learn something new about why we need salvation, how God has provided for it, and how we receive it.

As you look at each of the six points outlined here, take time to reflect on what God’s Word has to say. Remember that the book of Romans was written to people just like you and me: people living in a busy culture, trying to make sense of what is true and what is most important in life.

The Romans Road describes the only way to Heaven. Study it, learn it, and follow it!

1. EVERYONE NEEDS SALVATION

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

2. JESUS DIED FOR OUR SALVATION

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

3. SALVATION IS A GIFT

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

4. WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. (Romans 11:6)

5. SALVATION COMES THROUGH FAITH

To him that … believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (Romans 4:5)

6. GOD SAVES ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

The Bible says there are two roads in life: one is the way to eternal joy in Heaven, and the other leads to eternal punishment in Hell. Which road are you on?

Follow the Romans Road to salvation today. Recognize that you are a sinner and that your sin must be judged by God. See that Jesus died to pay the penalty for your sin, but that you must choose to accept His provision. Understand that you cannot earn your way to Heaven through good works or religious activity. Now turn to God and put your faith in Jesus Christ who died for you and rose again.

If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9,10)

Are you a good Person?

History:

In the summer of 2001, God laid a burden upon the heart of Dr. Aaron Dawson to begin an equipping ministry to meet the “greatest need” of the church. It was from that point on that Aaron began to search for what that need was. A period of nearly six years passed before Aaron realized that one of his own shortcomings was the answer–personal evangelism. In 2006, during a conversation with his brother-in-law Jeremy Cox, Aaron realized that God was bringing them together to work as a team. As time has passed the talents and abilities of each have been challenged, stretched, and enhanced in pursuit of God’s will for 29:11 Ministries.

Aaron Dawson is the son of Steve and Sandy Dawson. He was raised in the ministry as his parents served in their church and Christian school. He graduated from Queenstown Christian Academy in 1998. Aaron was then off to the Ministry Training Institute to complete two years of his bachelor’s degree. He finished it through Andersonville Theological Seminary. He served as pastor at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church in Falkville, Alabama. Aaron fulfills the roles of lead speaker, apologetics coordinator, and writer.

Aaron Dawson currently serves as the Pastor of Souls Harbor Church in Vinemont, Alabama. He began his career with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office in 2012 as a night shift Line Officer. Since that time he has served as a Line Officer, Dispatcher, Corporal, Sergeant and Warden. Since 2014, Aaron has been a founding member of the Alabama Jail Training Academy. Prior to beginning his career in Corrections, Aaron served in the educational field as a Teacher, Coach, and Principal. He also has been pastoring since 2008. Aaron has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and a Ph.D in Communication and Leadership. He is married to his wife of 19 years and together they have four sons. Aaron enjoys firearms, woodworking, farming, writing, music, and book collecting.

Bad News, Good News

(* Hover over scripture text to quickly read the passage. )

SIN is the PROBLEM!

BAD NEWS: We Are All Sinners

All have sinned. Romans 3:23

There is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:12

GOOD NEWS: Jesus Came to Save Sinners

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15

BAD NEWS: We Deserve to Die

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Ezekiel 18:4

The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23

GOOD NEWS: Jesus Christ Died for Us

Christ died for our sins … was buried, and … rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

BAD NEWS: We Cannot Earn Salvation

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us. Titus 3:5

GOOD NEWS: God Gives Salvation

By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

BAD NEWS: We Are Condemned

This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

GOOD NEWS: Jesus Frees From Condemnation

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

BAD NEWS: We Deserve Eternal Punishment

Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

GOOD NEWS: God Offers Eternal Life

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

BAD NEWS: We Cannot Find the Way Alone

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 16:25

GOOD NEWS: Jesus is the Way

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6

THE ULTIMATE BAD NEWS:

He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36b

THE ULTIMATE GOOD NEWS:

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. John 3:36a

Will you act on the good news today?

Jesus said, “Repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). The word gospel simply means good news. So He urges you to repent (to turn toward God, acknowledging that you are a lost and guilty sinner) and believe (put your complete trust in) the good news that Jesus died in your place and rose again to offer you eternal life.

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Jesus is the Answer!

Articles: Presenting the Gospel

Presenting the Gospel

It is imperative that as we prepare to present the Gospel to lost friends, family, acquaintances and co-workers, that we understand what we are presenting and the Scriptural means in which to present it. According to Scripture, there are three essential elements of salvation:

1. Repentance of sin.(Luke 13:3)

2. Belief in the person and sacrifice of Christ.(Mark 1:15)

3. Obedience to God and His commands.(1 John 5:3)

Therefore:

    • To adequately repent a person must understand what they are repenting from and why it is necessary to repent.

    • To believe in the person and sacrifice of Jesus Christ one must have a correct understanding of who Jesus is and what was accomplished by His sacrifice.

    • One must obey in continual and faithful reading and application of Scripture, prayer, attendance and involvement in a church, and genuine consistent service.

When we present the Gospel, whatever outline we may use, it must contain the following elements:

1. A personal realization of one’s true sinful state and the result of an unrepentant attitude.

2. A description of what Christ accomplished in His life, death and resurrection.

3. An individual’s responsibility to receive salvation.

4. An opportunity for the individual to pray and receive Christ.

No matter what outline or method you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in using, it must be Scriptural. We cannot allow our preferences to interfere, for this is a spiritual work. We are simply preparing the way for Christ. It’s His work, and therefore we must do it His way. Pray, study, practice and prepare to get involved in the work of the Gospel. Here are a few more tips to help you in implementing what you have prepared to use.

    • Don’t skip or gloss over any element of the outline. Sin is an abomination. Christ’s salvation is complete. Surrender must be total.

    • Don’t attempt to force, persuade, or convince a person to receive Christ. Simply present them with the information and the choice.

    • Don’t pray for them, have them pray. If they aren’t sure what to say give them an illustration or an example. Have them pray it!

    • Don’t tell them they are saved, let the Holy Spirit do it. Let their assurance come from God.

    • If they don’t want to make a commitment at the time, thank them for talking to you and encourage them to think about what you have discussed.

    • If they do pray to receive Christ, convey the necessity for them to get involved in a Bible-preaching church. Make some suggestions of some in the area. Don’t get involved in “denomination bashing.”

Sermon: Do you love Me?

Subject: "Do you love Me?"
Example: Peter's Response to Jesus' Question.
Speaker: Dr. Aaron Dawson
Date: Sunday Morning : 08-21-2022

Jesus asks Peter, "Do you love Me?"
Foundational: Are you in love with Jesus?
It must be a love for Christ!

  1. It gives me a focus.
  2. It gives me a motivation.
  3. It gives me a methodology.
Take the love and share it with others.
Go and make a impact on others.

"The dunces who led primitive Christianity astray, by substituting faith for science, reverie for experience, the fantastic for the reality; and the inquisitors who for so many ages waged against Magism (magic and sorcery) a war of extermination, have succeeded in shrouding in darkness the ancient discoveries of the human mind." -Albert Pike, 33rd degree Mason, Morals and Dogma

Basic Beliefs:

  • The Masons are not considered to be a cult by many because of Christian involvement in the organization, but a close look at their beliefs shows otherwise.
  • There are 3 levels: apprentice, fellowcraft, and master mason, which contains 33 degrees.
  • The higher degrees are only offered to those who want to pursue further, and they must become a member of the Scottish Rite or the York Rite to get past the 3rd degree.
  • They teach that the Messiah will be an idea at the pinnacle of evolution, not a personal savior.
  • The focus of the organization is a search for "the Light".
  • They claim that Freemasonry is based upon the Bible, but it is actually based upon the Kabbalah, a book of witchcraft.

Jesus:

  • They do not recognize the deity of Christ or acknowledge him as "the Light".
  • Salvation is through works. It is based upon living a good life and by attaining the level of master mason.
  • "The religion of Freemasonry is not Christian." - Albert Mackey, 33rd degree Mason
  • They place themselves above all religions, which they place on equal standings.
  • They do not acknowledge the sinfulness of man or the need for forgiveness, only the pursuance of "the light".
  • They pray, but are forbidden to pray in Jesus' name, and they omit His name from any Scripture they read.

Salvation:

  • They claim that salvation is only available through their organization.

"I hereby promise the Great Spirit Lucifer, Prince of Demons, that each year I will bring unto him a human soul to do with as as it may please him, and in return Lucifer promises to bestow upon me the treasures of the Earth and fulfill my every desire for the length of my natural life. If I fail to bring him each year the offering specified above, then my own soul shall be forfeit to him.

- Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages

"Masonry is regarded as the direct descendant, or as a survival of the mysteries...of Isis and Osiris in Egypt."

- Robert Freke Gould, History of Freemasonry

Witness Focus:

  • Be prepared to come in contact with some Christians who are part of the Freemasons, and see no problem with it.
  • For them, ask them questions concerning salvation in the Masonic Order.
  • For others, show them the impossibility of being good enough to earn salvation.
  • Show them that there is only one true God, who they will one day stand in judgment before, and that they must be prepared.

"We shall unleash the Nihilists and Atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effects of absolute Atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will be from that moment without compass, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view, a manifestation which will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and Atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."

- Albert Pike, in Aug. 15, 1871 letter to Grand Master Guiseppie Mazzini (British Museum Archives)

"That which we must say to the crowd is, we worship a God, but it is the God one adores without superstition. To you sovereign grand inspector general, we say this and you may repeat it to the brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees - the Masonic religion should be by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the luciferian doctrine. If Lucifer were not God, would Adonay (the God of the Christians) whose deeds prove cruelty, perfidy and hatred of man, barbarism and repulsion for science, would Adonay and His priests, calumniate Him? Yes, Lucifer is God, and unfortunately Adonay is also God, for the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods. Darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil, as the pedestal is necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive. Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is heresy, and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay, but Lucifer, God of light and God of good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the god of darkness and evil."

- General Albert Pike, The Question of Freemasonry, by Edward Decker, (pp.12-14)

About Jeremy

My photo
Falkville, AL, United States
Jeremy's testimony is not an eloquent or elaborate testimony but it is genuine and truthful. Jeremy is a son of a free will baptist minister. Jeremy grew up in church as a preacher's kid. Though Jeremy knew all the lingo on the Bible, he was lost and needed to be saved. Jeremy's dad was the pastor of a small country church. He had a guest speaker to preach the evening service. Jeremy felt convicted of his sins and became focused on his dirty heart. On the way home after the preaching Jeremy asked his dad and mom on how he could be saved. They showed Jeremy how to be saved and he knelt down by his bed and Jeremy received Jesus Christ by faith. He became Jeremy's personal Saviour. Amen!
